About Julie
Starting from zero, Julie is an entrepreneur who built two businesses from the ground up; and enjoys volunteering around the city of Toronto.
With over 20 years of entrepreneurial and business experience in the IT, Mobile and Telecom Industry, Julie has remained a steady force of nature.
Fueled by integrity, honesty and kindness, Julie is an avid problem solver, a driven go-getter, and a focused doer. Give her a challenge, she’ll come up with a forward-thinking solution and get it done.
As president of TBD Telecom By Design Inc. and Plaza Signs, Julie has built a team across Canada, which works collaboratively with the Toronto home office, on IT and Telecom projects ranging from a single site, multi-sites to campus-wide installations. Her love of learning and curiosity has sparked ideas to develop successful new solutions and business concepts for both companies and community engagement.
Volunteer Work
Julie is currently an active Chair and Board Member in the Liberty Village BIA (since 2014). Her most recent volunteer work was participating member of the Community Liaison Committee (since 2019) on issues relating to homelessness and the City’s most vulnerable, as this was especially active during the pandemic. Other Volunteer interests have included completing a term as Chair of the WBE Canada Supplier Advisory Committee as well as, asked to be the first WBE to sit on the WBE Canada Board of Management. Julie has previously volunteered as Campaign Manager for a City Council candidate for the City of Toronto Election in 2014.

Fun Facts!
Julie loves to work hard and play hard! working for Julie is a joy as you will find her working evenings and weekends with a smile.
While working, you will usually find Julie listening to classical music to stay focused throughout the day. However, Riot Girl or hip-hop classics are the go-to’s to cheer her up!
Julie admires all women influencers trying to make a better change in today’s world!
After 20 years of entrepreneurship, She prides herself to still be an optimist and joyful by choice.
